I have heard mentions about the book here and there in conversations and as a quick mention in fiction books I read, but it always would slip my mind to look into it. By happenstance, I saw the movie title and thought here’s my chance to finally know and learn the story of this classic! The Count of Monte Cristo is a thrilling movie that tugs on the heartstrings and leaves the audience at the edge of their seats eagerly waiting in anticipation for the next move.
A short blurb about the plot, it is about 2 men and their friendship and of course a woman to spur on the conflict. There is romance, betrayal, redemption, agony, and hope – all the elements in the making for a good story. I highly recommend checking out the movie! It is no wonder there have been to date 4 movie/TV adaptations of the book: 1929 (movie), 1998 (TV mini series), 2002 (movie I watched!), and 2024 (recently released movie at the time of this post). There is also a musical adaptation! So many ways to experience the gripping story that has enthralled audiences for all this time.
