I stumbled upon this book from a passing comment left on a thread post to check out and the title alone drew me in. I have always been intrigued by psychology and want to gain a deeper understanding into the behaviors of people and to challenge myself in my quest to become a better person.

Why Does He Do That?: Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men by Lundy Bancroft

This book dispels commonly held beliefs about the root causes of abuse in romantic relationships. Prior to reading this book, I held some of these beliefs like abusive men have been abused themselves and there is an equal measure of abusive women and men. Bancroft, a counselor who works with abusive men and their partners shares his insights, advice, and analysis in not only identifying the types of abuse, but also the ripple effects the abuse has on partners, children, friends, family, and societal constructs.
If you are in any way curious or like me, seek to gain a better understanding of abusive relationships, check out this book! Readers do not have to be women in abusive relationships. The knowledge shared in the book is useful to everyone whether they are in a relationship, want to be a better ally, or are the main target audience.
