A Court of Thorns and Roses vs. Fourth Wing

After hearing about the hype surrounding these two series last summer, I finally caved and read both series. Each are great series for those who love the fantasy genre!

If I had to pick a favorite, ACOTAR would be my choice. The plot lines, exploring the different perspectives of the main group of characters, and character development was enthralling and full of anticipation. This series was my first toe dip into the world of fantasy novels after a long departure. And what an awesome series to kick start my foray back into fantasy! My favorite book in the series would definitely be A Court of Silver Flames. I relate to Nesta so much and seeing the plot from her perspective and taking in her character arc tugged at my heartstrings.

The Fourth Wing series on the other hand, I would recommend for those who do not like fantasy to begin with and would like to remain as closely anchored to the real world as possible with some fantastical creations thrown in. If you like The Hunger Games or Divergent, you will most likely enjoy this series. The captivating plot does have more predictable developments although I could be biased since I read ACOTAR and another series by Sarah Maas before delving into this series.

All in all, both series are fantastic and I would definitely recommend you check both of them out!
