A Good Fluoride-Free Toothpaste Alternative?

There’s been a lot of discussion over whether fluoride should exist in toothpaste or even be added into our water sources. Research has shown that fluoride does help make our teeth strong and prevents tooth decay. Of course in large amounts, fluoride can have adverse effects, but at the doses in regulated toothpaste and tap water, it is deemed as safe.

That doesn’t stop people from exploring other alternatives – specifically fluoride-free toothpaste. In that subcategory, I want to bring your attention to the ingredient nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA). This is a substance that mimics the natural material of teeth and can aid in filling microcracks and remineralizing teeth with consistent use! These gains are not temporary either since this ingredient actually bonds with the tooth, rebuilding tooth enamel. Fluoride on the other hand works to strengthen the surface of the tooth and resists acid attacks. There’s no rebuilding action taking place.

Currently, I am trying out the Boka Whitening toothpaste and I am alternating between that and my trusty Sensodyne toothpaste. So far so good!
