Throw Out Your Expired Lip Products!

The cost of skincare, makeup, and hair products adds up, so it is understandable to want to use every drop and scrape up the most out of your products to not waste money. But! If that comes at the expense of causing acne or skin rashes, it is simply not worth it.

I never considered that my lip balms could be behind the acne appearing on my chin and around my mouth until I noticed the pattern! Whenever I applied an older lip balm, within a few days I would develop very specific kinds of pimples – ones with distinct medium-large bumps accompanied by yellowish pus. After I stopped using the products I suspected, these particular breakouts disappeared. While I still do, and probably always will, get some acne around my chin, expired lip balm no longer adds to the problem. Please check the expiration dates on your opened products and throw out anything that is past its limit! The trouble they can cause just is not worth it. If this is you, consider whether the skin issues you face could be exacerbated by these past-due topical products.
