Most credit card companies offer a way in your account settings to turn on phone notifications or email notices whenever a payment has been made using your credit card. While you’re at it, I implore you to look into alerts for your bank account as well. These simple, automated actions can be the first responders alerting you to a major issue that you can take action on right away if someone uses your credit card information or knows your bank account info.

These days with more and more of our life becoming intertwined with the digital domain, it become ever more prudent to protect ourselves from devious thieves, scammers, and bad actors wanting to cause harm to your life. Measures like this one are small steps to help protect yourself from a terrible headache to sort out later. Don’t delay!
